Senior Methodologist, Epidemiology and Surveillance Team
Doug has worked in public health surveillance and methods for more than 18 years. He also holds an Adjunct Professor position in the Department of Public Health at Concordia University of Edmonton.
He is currently the Senior Methodologist in Epidemiology and Surveillance at the Alberta Ministry of Health where he works to ensure that public health surveillance systems in Alberta continue to provide methodologically sound, creative, timely, high quality evidence for public health actions and policies. He is involved in a variety of areas, with a focus currently on immunization coverage and methods, vaccine safety surveillance, modelling risk factors at small areas, spatial scan statistics, comprehensively including social determinants of health into surveillance activities, and the measurement and analysis of health inequities.
