Senior Health System Measurement Lead
Health Quality Council of Alberta
Tim joined the Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA) in 2005 and has played an integral role in establishing the HQCA’s survey and measurement capacity. Tim’s primary functions include developing surveys, survey methods and quality measures as well as data analysis and reporting writing. He has been a leader in developing partnerships and collaborations related to HQCA initiatives, working with organizations such as the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (US), the Healthcare Commission (UK), the EuroQol Group (NL), and the Institute of Health Economics in Alberta. Tim has been central to the HQCA’s PROMs and EQ5D work from the beginning almost 5 years ago.
His previous work experience includes nine years with the former Calgary Health Region as well as with Calgary Health Services and the Alberta Cancer Board. A former international cross-country ski competitor and coach, he is still an avid cross country skier in his spare time. Tim is married to an acute care physician and has an inside perspective on the health system. It also keeps him busy! When he’s not working or sharing family responsibilities, he enjoys outdoor pursuits and playing the guitar.
